Care

Caring for
your piece

Raw human hair responds to care in the same way your own hair does. Treat it gently, keep it moisturised, and it will last. Up to five years, with the right routine.

Washing

Every 2–3 weeks, or as needed
  1. 1

Detangle gently with a wide-tooth comb before washing, working from ends to roots.

  2. 2

Fill a basin with cool or lukewarm water. Never hot, which damages the cuticle.

  3. 3

Add a small amount of sulphate-free shampoo and swirl to dissolve before submerging the piece.

  4. 4

Gently work the shampoo through the hair with your fingers, moving in one direction. Do not scrub or pile the hair on top of itself.

  5. 5

Rinse thoroughly with cool water until the water runs completely clear.

  6. 6

Gently squeeze (do not wring) to remove excess water.

Conditioning

After every wash
  1. 1

Apply a generous amount of moisture-rich conditioner from mid-lengths to ends. Avoid the roots and lace area.

  2. 2

Work through with fingers or a wide-tooth comb.

  3. 3

Leave for 3–5 minutes, or for deeper treatment, cover with a shower cap and leave for 20–30 minutes.

  4. 4

    Rinse thoroughly with cool water.

  5. 5

Consider a leave-in conditioner while the hair is still damp to maintain moisture between washes.

Drying & Styling

  1. 1

Lay the piece on a clean towel and gently press (never rub) to absorb moisture.

  2. 2

Air dry on a wig stand whenever possible. This preserves the cap shape and prevents tangling.

  3. 3

If using heat, always apply a heat protectant first. Raw hair can tolerate moderate heat, but repeated high heat will shorten its lifespan.

  4. 4

Recommended heat settings: 150–180°C for straightening; avoid exceeding 200°C.

  5. 5

Style while slightly damp for best results.

Storage

  1. 1

Store on a wig stand or mannequin head when not in use. This preserves the shape and prevents tangling.

  2. 2

If storing for a longer period, loosely braid the hair, place in a silk or satin bag, and store away from direct sunlight and heat.

  3. 3

Avoid compressing the piece. It will crease and mat.

  4. 4

Keep away from steam and humidity when not being worn.
